despite the term’s appropriation by the US far right, “libertarianism” was originally a left wing, anarchist, and communist movement. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarianism
real libertarians sometimes call US far right guys “propertarians” - their philosophy has very little to do with freedom (& tends to be a gateway into authoritarian / fascist sympathies). Anyway, that said, I couldn’t personally care less about reclaiming the term - but it’s sort of a funny chain of ideological custody.

This quote also shows how deeply the conditioning and implanted narrative of #capitalism is, with its roots in #propertarian fables and other hierarchical power structures. The Protestant work ethic should be called out too, not contrasted against capitalism. It's not a good thing.
Of course, the second sentence of the quote is perfectly accurate.
