Hi all,
Time for some #introductions I suppose. I'm a gay cis-man (he/him) living in #Dallas, #Texas with my husband, a couple #dogs and a bunch of #cats. I'm interested in #technology, #linux, #homelab, #gardening, #hamradio, #guns, #guitar, and #politics. I'm a late in life #anarchist, after watching the pandemic, the George Floyd murder, the last couple of elections, and the 2021 Texas ice storm/power outage. The state is not your friend, the police are not your friend, and all we really have are each other.
When I'm not complaining about how capitalism is going to kill us all, I like to watch movies and tv shows, read some books, listen to some podcasts, and bother my pets.
I'm not interested in hearing why you think voting is the main thing we gotta do. I still vote, and I vote for the blue team. I think you should too. But if you think that's ALL we have to do, we're going to disagree.
And for those of you still reading, the fascists have shown us what they want to do. They want to roll back all of the rights that we have fought for over the last 100 years and then take a little more. And unfortunately any mainstream opposition to fascists seems to mostly rely on fascists being reasonable.
Look out for your friends who have less privilege than you do. Learn how to take care of yourself, your family, and get involved with your neighbors and community now. Learn some first aid and keep supplies around. Learn how to grow some food if you have access to a backyard. Buy a gun, learn how it works, train with it, and then let's hope it never comes to that. Armed minorities are harder to oppress.
