Free trial or freemium. The age-old question.

If you want more paying users so you don't have to wait to be profitable, consider using a free trial instead of freemium. OpenView's latest 2023 Product Benchmarks report shows that free trials (~10%) can convert better than the freemium model (~5%).

If you're an #opensource #foss project considering offering a cloud/hosted version of your software, this is an important data point to consider.
