@monikamerkes @wormerama I remember when all this was “PU Leather”. None of this new-fangled vegan labelling.
Remember vegan leather is also (usually) “dolphin friendly” too. Companies take us for fools. #ProductLabelling #Capitalism

European Union: a draft legal proposal by the European Commission aims to clamp down on companies promoting their products as "climate neutral" or "containing recycled materials" if such labels are not substantiated.
Draft rules would cover all products and services sold in the EU (Implies imported products or services must also comply)
This follows a high level UN Expert group report on greenwashing by non-state actors presented at COP27 in November.

Reminds us of how the #MadeInAustralia campaign was corrupted about 5 years ago.Powers that be announced that everyone had to put the widely recognised (and once respected) Made In #Australia iconography on everything, but with a little slider underneath to show the percentage of Australian product in the package.
So we now have some products with no local, Australian ingredients with the #kangarooIcon.

Palm Oil Free Brands
The RSPO is a global certification scheme for palm oil that certifies palm oil as ‘sustainable’. Yet this word means absolutely nothing, as RSPO members – the biggest supermarket brands in the world: (#Unilever, #Nestle, #Colgate-Palmolive, L’Oreal, Avon, Mars, #Mondelez, Cargill, #Danone and more) all continue with illegal indigenous landgrabbing, deforestation, human rights abuses, #slavery and violence on their palm oil plantations.
This is why Palm Oil Detectives advocates for a full boycott on these global brands because of their #palmoil #corruption. Here are some brands that do not use palm oil in a variety of categories.
Until big brands stop #deforestation I am going #palmoilfree. I boycott supermarket brands/ @RSPOtweets members destroying #rainforests for #palmoil and other commodities. Join me and #Boycottpalmoil #Boycott4Wildlife @palmoildetect https://palmoildetectives.com/2021/02/11/palm-oil-free-brands/
