#ProductManagement was never about output, but outcome.
Creating value by doing the right things at the right time.
Now, output is getting cheaper with the help of coding tools and LLMs, so #strategy and user knowledge is the value we create.

The Product Trio is blurring. Everyone thinks they can do your job. They're not wrong. Now what?
AI is dissolving the walls between PM, design, and engineering. One person can increasingly hold all three dimensions.
But tools commoditize fast. The real moat is judgment: knowing what to build, for whom, and why.
Don't be fungible.

“I didn’t write any code, but I did read a lot of it, and if you asked me to explain the system I was using, I’d be able to do a good job.”

We’ll soon be swimming in #misinformation, generated by carefully worded prompts, machines trained on biased #data sources, and actors motivated by the worst angels of our nature.

Kinda curious to see how a data architecture model with primary keys plays with a language model.

Great and entertaining talk from 2019 GDC by (former) Unity's Mike Acton on minimal standards for building #software systems:
„Everyone Watching This Is Fired: Tips for Game Industry Programme.“
Also highly recommended for #prodmgmt that work close with software development teams. This talk helps to ask the right questions.

„10x speed without 10x strategic thinking is just 10x chaos. And chaos, no matter how fast, never beats strategy.“

@BarbNerdy Job market for #prodmgmt roles (which I would include POs even if they are often delivery managers) is pretty bad atm. Companies also hire very conservative and very much in the same business domain (the part which can be usually learned in the first three months). Recruiters use „AI“ tools that just count checkboxes.
Besides that: if you are good in product management, business strategy and analytics, user experience and research, confortable with complex social setups and difficult decision making, go for it! 😀💪

Recommended read by Jurgen Appelo about AI and bullshit work. When you’re using AI tools on a daily basis, this resonates a lot.

In user-centric design, there is no product experience without the "User". Because that exactly is the whole point.
I think I get the point they want to make (besides tech marketing bs), but no.

Often mixed up:
- AI powered #Productmanagement: working with tools that include AI tech.
- AI #ProductManagement: working on a product that includes AI (that currently is ML or DL or agents in most cases, except you‘re working for Antropic an the likes).Difference to „regular“ #prodmgmt: well, not much I would argue against the LinkedIn bubble. Yes, the tech literacy needs to be higher than e.g. b2c ecommerce. This applies to all very technical products (like API product, dev platform, automated logistics, algorithmic products like routing etc) where the tech didn‘t reach commodity level yet.

"A lot of things don't change until things structurally change. If your team can't deploy at will, that's a constraint. If you're supposed to be data-informed, but have to jump through hoops to instrument a metric—and then another set of hoops to even see the dashboard—that's a constraint. If accessing customers requires five people's permission, it probably won't happen. If engineers are incentivized for individual accomplishments instead of shared outcomes, you'll end up with too much work in progress and not enough finished value. "
John Cutler on Marty Cagan and SVPG.But that is the whole point: How helpful are very generalistic advices with an added extra "Google did that" sauce on it? Exactly, not much.
