Time & time again we learn through bad experience that the private sector provision of essential goods & especially services, has to be regulated, monitored, & experience consequences when it does the wrong thing. Perhaps when all that is added together, in some ‘Social Economics’ or ‘cost benefit analysis’ that actually includes all the externalities, it will be found to be a more effective use of public monies to offer services through public sector structures. 🤔Oooo now I feel I’m ranting!!

Saw a post on LI moaning about #integrity in the #publicsector, as if it was an isolated issue. Let's stop pretending integrity is a public or #privatesector issue. It's #cultural. No one is willing to honestly address it. Not cause it's hard, but integrity & #accountability are a threat to everyone holding a #leadership role. If we took the issue serious, most leaders would be put of a job & have a tough time finding new employment. That applies to all leaders, no matter if public or private.
