The World’s #Autocrats No Longer Take #Trump Seriously
The leaders of #Russia, #China, & #NorthKorea are not good men. They preside over brutal autocracies replete with #SecretPolice & #PrisonCamps. But they are, nevertheless, serious men, & they know an unserious man when they see one. For nearly a decade, they have taken Trump’s measure, & they have clearly reached a conclusion: The president of the #US is not worthy of their respect.

If you're wondering where FEMA's funding is going, it's going to fund prison camps.
"...A: Yes, the immigrant detention facility in Florida, dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz,” is being “funded largely” by the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Shelter and Services Program..."

"...Photographers for the War Relocation Authority were on hand as they were forced to leave their houses, shops, farms, fishing boats. For months they stayed at “assembly centers,” living in racetrack barns or on fairgrounds. Then they were shipped to ten “relocation centers,” primitive camps built in the remote landscapes of the interior West and Arkansas. The regime was penal: armed guards, barbed wire, roll call. Years later, internees would recollect the cold, the heat, the wind, the dust—and the isolation...."

Eight Things You Can Do to Stop #ICE
2025-02-11, via #CrimethInc
"The #Trump administration is paving the way for #MassDeportations by building new #PrisonCamps and invoking the #AlienEnemiesAct, which was used to justify the internment of #JapaneseAmericans during World War II. Motivated by nativism and white nationalism, Steven Miller and other officials are attempting to ethnically cleanse the United States, while tech and prison companies profit on lucrative government contracts and corporations continue to exploit immigrant labor. Knowing that mass deportations will inflict devastating costs, Trump has chiefly been concentrating his efforts in cities like Chicago and Denver that are governed by his political adversaries.
"Nonetheless, people are getting organized. Communities across the US are mobilizing rapid response networks that can respond to raids and support those targeted by #StateViolence. Students across the US are staging #walkouts; people are holding mass #demonstrations and fighting back against deportations.
"If we fail to stand in solidarity with those targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) today, the same infrastructure of repression will eventually be turned against others, as well. An injury to one is an injury to all!
"Do your part to melt the ICE."

👀 The #GOP has introduced a bill to #EXPELPalestinians from the #unitedstates. I cannot read such things without remembering what happened to my own #family after #PearlHarbour when we and 120,000 #JapaneseAmericans were #incarcerated in #prisoncamps for years, without #charge or #trial.

It wasn't bad enough that over 125k people of Japanese origin -- most of them American citizens -- were incarcerted in 10 prison camps located in desolate areas across the western United States in violation of their Constitutional rights but the US government attempted to sugar coat their imprisonment by falsely claiming that it was then for the own "good" to protect them from anti-Japanese sentiment during #WWII and characterizing their imprisonment as merely an "internment" despite the presence of armed military guards in watch towers and fences topped with barred wire.
The time has long passed to dispense with the nicety of calling this act of anti-Asian hate as merely an "internment" (even calling it a "detention" isn't strong enough) and to call it what it was, which was the wrongful INCARCERATION and IMPRISONMENT of people of Japanese ancestry for no reason but their race & ethnic background.
