(I can't fully do the style justice without (a) already knowing them a bit better, and (b) having italics to play with in the formatting here! but I feel sure you'll know the things I mean :-) )

I am on a bit of a geeky sidetrack about the style and language of these. I would really like to find a stash of them where I can flip through like 100 examples of those title pages, and "get my eye in" for their vibe. Or failing that, at least a dozen.

Searching isn't doing it for me, because I'm finding mostly either explanations _about_ the making of them, or later examples which don't have the glorious miscellany of type styles.

Does such a collection exist online? Where should I be looking?

Or would my only hope be to physically visit a library? (which realistically I probably wouldn't get around to, as this is only a side enthusiasm, but maybe one day. I'm based in Nottingham, England.)

L'idée est de se demander ce que le nouveau média fait à l'organisation des savoirs et des discours médiévaux dans la deuxième moitié du XVe et le début du XVIe siècle. Les questions de mise en page, de mise en image, d'évolutions ou de continuités linguistiques et matérielles seront envisagées par les participants, issus de différentes disciplines (histoire, lettres, linguistique, histoire de l'art...). The Spread of Printing: Eastern Hemisphere

In the '70s and '80s, if you wanted to set type for yourself, you had to resort to presstype, transfer lettering, Letraset – there were a bunch of names and a bunch of brands, of which Letraset was the highest quality. I think this stuff cost about $8 a sheet back then, when I was making about $2 an hour, so it was a real indulgence, and once I chose a sheet, it got used for any project I needed type for.
