The ‘24 #PrideofDakota holiday parcel is about to be wrapped. I skipped the drink mixes this yr (less $) & focused more on making it a #snackbox. The sumac #bison #jerky is sold by a Chippewa/Métis business. I also included a #soap & #bergamot #chapstick along w/a #Swedish Dakotan #Dala #horse #sticker. Were the gifts w/in budget? Maybe.The brownie chow was the most $. The lighter wt this yr reduces shipping costs. I need time to send the parcel.

Dot’s #pretzels, in one of the #chocolates, is now sold nationally. The business was sold to Hershey’s for $1.2 billion & has left it’s ND nest.

#Dakotamaid #pancake mix from the ND mill & elevator. It’s the largest #flour #mill in the USA & run by ND state gov’t. It was inc. in 1922 to keep more profits w/ND farmers than MN capitalists. #valueadded. Doesn’t this sound a little like what #PrideofDakota, sponsored by the ND Dept. During Covid, I bought a pre made #PrideofDakota #giftbasket online to social distance.

Gotta #buylocal during the hard times, too.

It costs, however, ~ 1/3 the price to do-it-yourself & allows for customization. E.g., in this selection I rebelled & included a #Minnesota #treat (what is it?).

Any #creative ideas on how to improve #packing while economizing & #recycling?

Mighty Missouri #coffee; friends roast the beans. #RedRiverValley represents w/Giant #sunflowerseeds. #Pretzel #snacks: bag of Tangles, Dot’s #chocolate. Both hail from the #SourisRiver region. Any suggestions on what to include for #westriver #treats in the future?

I remembered my furry friends by including a #dogtreat.

All were purchased @ the gift shop or grocery store. #buylocal
