In case anyone else is having problems viewing their annual statement from Nest Pensions in Preview.app on MacOS, I managed to fix mine with Ghostscript:

gs \
-sDEVICE=pdfwrite \
-dNOPAUSE \
-dBATCH \
-o repaired.pdf \
broken.pdf

Somebody needs to explain to me who at #apple thought that using the #previewapp on #ios26 was a better UX than using #quicklook. WTF? What’s going on at Apple? Regarding UX, they’re simply regressing… 😒

Kind of a follow-up to yesterday's blost, but also informative for those who work with PDFs in Linux.

P.P.S., @scruss informs me that Firefox's built-in PDF viewer can do (almost) all of the annotation things I've been trying to do with multiple apps. I'm kinda shook!

The fact that #macOSSonoma puts an icon next to the file to indicate where it came from (email for instance) and that #Previewapp tells you that there are other versions of the same file (subsequent or prior) is one of the BEST and less discussed things in MacOS Sonoma IMHO.
