Last week, I attended a class launching the #pressbooks zine the students created. They were very proud of the work. After the class I asked the faculty if they ever printed copies and she said, “No, I don’t know how or have the time.” Something like that. I had a librarian who helped her class with the book export a pdf 15 minutes and $8.47 later, I had ordered a copy from lulu. It is beautiful.

And she has no idea it is headed her way on Monday 😊

I recently built a pressbooks site for my college for our #ZeroTextBook #ztc effort and now I want to see a federated #OpenSource book system. I don’t know much about #bookwyrm but from what I see it is more for reviews than for text distribution? If this already exists I would appreciate being educated

I'm not leading the effort, but we offer grants, workshops, the #librarians also champion it, and I'm working on some handbooks in pressbooks myself to seed it.
