  1. The Myth of “Deleted” Data

Last week, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed what many of us in the #privacy community have long feared: ChatGPT conversations, even those marked as “temporary” or “deleted,” are being #preserved #indefinitely due to a court order tied to a copyright lawsuit.

#Purism believes that the solution starts with three core principles:
    - True Data Sovereignty
    - Transparent Retention Policies
    - Legal Firewalls for Sensitive Data

  2. #Museums play an important #role worldwide. Not only do they convey #knowledge/#insights to #visitors, but are also places where artistic, cultural, #historical, and #scientific #treasures are #preserved, serving even as subject of current/future research. G.Frackler (2024) finds that #sustainability is becoming increasingly important in the "#selfimage of museums as #social/#societal actors".

  3. This is some #MuiChoy with some #garlic cloves. Prepping to cook with it.
Mui choy is commonly used in classic #Hakka - #Teochew - #Cantonese #cuisines. It's one of the various kinds of #preserved #mustards that almost every #Chinese household has in their pantries. We usually use it to make our traditional Teochew braised pork or chicken or tofu(for our meat free days) dishes.

In our Teochew language, mui choy translates to "congee vegetables" - because it's eaten with congee often. Very classic, preserved veggie that is used in #cooking - all across South East Asia.

  8. My Friday is better now. Just got my big gift jar of homemade #kimchi from my client's sweet daughter 😀 Mom's going to love this too - she loves kimchi! We make our own too but everyone makes a different style.

This is their longtime #Korean family's style & it's just the right amount of spicy & tangy 👍 Excellent on it's own or as snack toppers or added to soups & other dishes.
The jar is big enough to last us for a couple of months!

  9. I'm making more #Teochew #Chinese #preserved #SaltedLimes today. We use same method as our families overseas have used, for generations. The link below is similar to what I do. We have several jars of assorted fruit based salted preserves sitting in our backyard on our natural fermentation table.

We use salted limes & salted lemons & salted plums year round, to make traditional fermented hot/cold drinks & for cooking purposes.
