  1. Kiddo got really into cheeseburgers this weekend.

For the record, a cheeseburger consists of the following, from top to bottom:

    1. bread
    2. cheese
    3. meat
    4. pancake

  2. Raised my kiddo a little bit too urbanist. Refuses to go on play dates if we have to go there by car. Only wants to go on the family bike

  3. 3y11mo old: I want to be a finger when I grow up!
    ...
    Partner: Why?
3: because I love my fingers on my sticky hand

  4. Let the 3.75yo watch Frozen for the first time 2 hours ago.

Long story short, we're watching it again now.

This was... Maybe a mistake... Bedtime is gonna be tough this evening...

  5. Oh no. The kiddo figured out that when I offer a choice of two things it's possible to say "I don't want any of those".

My greatest mind trick doesn't work anymore! How will we get anything done?

  6. They were previously stored in their grocery store box high up in the back of the cabinet, but I was inspired by the TikTok gentle parenting moms and put the snacks into a tupperware on the counter and well... I guess we're doing this grazing thing now...

  7. 🙀 The kiddo can reach the place on the kitchen counter where the goldfish snack packs are stored...

  8. The youngest is shouting something about bydraulics. There is no such thing as BYDRAULICS but he is so enthusiastic saying it that it should exist

  9. @chaspinrad
Whether you intentionally meant to #teach that message or not, you gleefully exposed yourself for what you did with this #preschooler. My point is about #ethical and professional conduct in the teaching profession, not politics. #edutooter

  10. Four found an Etch-a-Sketch. He’s bewildered: “BUT HOW DO YOU TURN IT ON?!”

  11. Having been playing a policeman game with his best friends, our preschooler is coming up different ways to punish a imaginative bad guy. While some punishments are rather ineffective, some other ones are rather severe and cruel.

"What has the bad guy done? What's the crime?" I couldn't help asking the other day.

Preschooler thought for a moment, "The bad guy stole the wind shield wiper from a police car."

  12. Help! Where are the #ECE and #Preschooler teachers or caregivers on this site? Any #Abolitionist teachers out there? Anyone from #QueeniesCrew ? I’m new here and want to find my people

  13. "Daddy, can you play the counting game with me?" Preschooler asked.

"Sure, I can. Do you remember what you need to do?" I said, trying not to give away my gladness too much.

"I need to be focused and answer questions." He said.

I went and practiced counting and simple addition with him using our fingers.

Sweetheart, you asked so politely and promised to be focused and answer questions. Of course I can play the counting game with you as much as you want.

  14. I did a quick #introduction on 11/6, and feel the need to do a slow one.

My wife and I are raising a 4YO and I toot #parenting, #ParentingJoy, #Preschooler to share with other parents.

I'm a practicing pythonista (#Python) and working my way through #PythonCookbook and #PythonDistilled. I toot #ProgressToday to record my progress. Right, maybe you didn't know - You are my accountability partners. Thanks!

I enjoy good humor. Sometimes my reply doesn't make sense, hopefully it makes you smile.

  15. "Daddy, I'll tell you something, but please don't laugh." Preschooler seems a bit sensitive recently.

"Sure, I'll not laugh." I reply and straighten my face.

Next, he'll tell me a story, a childish mixture of some life experience from day trips, some knowledge, and some wild wishes and imaginations.

I'm amazed because they're so unconstrained. I'd say his stories are my favorite "mixed reality". As he grows up, I hope he'll get to keep his imagination.

  16. "V-A-C-U-U-M vacuum truck!" Preschooler sang, seriously, following the song.

Watching him from the side, I was amazed, since preschooler is not a keen speller. Sometimes, when I ask him to spell a word, he would say, "I don't know. Tell me." I think he knows some of them, but just doesn't like the pressure or expectation.

The combination of interest (in trucks) and music was magical. What are other such magical combinations out there?
