1999 starten die Prequels mit 'Die Dunkle Bedrohung' ins Kino. Lucas, der Schöpfer von #starwars macht ein Thema zum Kern seines Films. Ein Konflikt um Handelsrouten, der das Anfang vom Ende der Republik hervorbringt.

Lange wurde diese Darstellung als übertrieben und unrealistisch belächelt. Jetzt ist er dran mit lachen!

Heute habe ich die Chronik meines Schreibprozesses zu #tangoundtod mitgebracht. Gestartet ist das Projekt als #Prequel meines Buches #DarkadianGods . Es sollte erzählen, wie Tamás George und seine Frau Sophia kennenlernt. George ist Protaginist von "Darkadian Gods". Zwischendurch gab es immer mal Ruhephasen und viele Überarbeitungen. Beide halte ich für essentiell für den kreativen Prozess.

I've finished: Lives of Bitter Rain by Adrian Tchaikovsky

Lives of Bitter Rain starts strong, as we witness Angilly's childhood trauma and see her develop her skills.

But eventually it just becomes a superfluous prequel. We learn nothing new about the world or the characters that wasn't already told or implied in Days of Shattered Faith.

I don't think there's anything here that couldn't be covered by a flashback scene or chapter in the next novel.

Ja, es gibt ja auch bereits Forderungen nach einer #Sequel (Fortsetzung) oder gar einer #Prequel, was mir im Hinblick auf #Celine sogar besser gefiele.

Insofern bieten die "jagged edges" hier für die Fans schon einiges. Wobei es natürlich sein kann, dass ein #KPopDemoHunters2 ähnlich scheitern könnte wie mancher #StarWars - Franchise. Brillanz wie bei #Mandalorian oder #Andor2 ist m.E. wirklich selten!
