DLACZEGO wygląd gazety jest ważny?
Gazeta Urzędu (Gminy, Miasta, Starostwa, firmy) kojarzona jest z osobą, która rządzi. Jeśli mieszkańcy (klienci) otrzymują gazetę, która wyglądem przypominać amatorskie gazetki z lat 90., to mogą odnieść wrażenie, że właśnie tak właśnie wygląda praca Wójta, Burmistrza, czy firmy — byle jak, bez polotu, na odczepne.I odwrotnie — profesjonalnie zaprojektowana, estetyczna gazeta daje wrażenie, że Gmina/Miasto/firma rządzona jest profesjonalnie: że dba się o szczegóły, ma wizję, szanuje mieszkańców/klientów na tyle, aby dać im coś porządnego.
Oczywiście, to nie do końca fair, bo jakość gazety nie mówi nic o jakości dróg czy przedszkoli, czy o stanie firmy… ale tak działa ludzka psychika. Wizerunek przenosi się z jednej rzeczy na drugą.
Dlatego Wójtów, Burmistrzów, Prezydentów nie stać na najtańszy – czyli bardzo słabej jakości – design i skład graficzny. I dlatego – pomimo wydawania byle jakich gazetek – tak wielu Wójtów i Burmistrzów przegrywa wybory. Nieprofesjonalna gazeta „nie dowozi” tematu. Jest traktowana jako śmieć, artykuły nie przyciągają wzroku.
Jeśli wydawać gazetę, to dobrze zaprojektowaną, przez firmy zajmujące się profesjonalnie składem graficznym (DTP) gazet

Do you know any #foss / #floss application that can preview output separation on a PDF file like Adobe Acrobat pro does?
I have been tried hard, even using javascript with #pdfjs but I couldn't find something very suitable for doing #prepress with opensource.
I am also ok with any #web applications.

Back on social media again (touching grass was nice) ... I usually do prepress on macOS, but when I'm on Linux I end up using #Inkscape (Scribus UX is not the best).
So I decided to make a simple GUI over Ghostscript 👻 . It will create prepress-ready PDF/X from any PDF. Note! If you want total control over CMYK/spot colors use Scribus, but if your demands are simple (RGB=>CMYK) it might work for you...

#PrePress Bubble: Nachdem ich gerade ein Magazin reinzeichne, in dem alle Bilddaten in RGB vorliegen: Ich weiß ja, dass das kein Problem ist, alles sauber mit Farbprofil, wird beim PDF-Export korrekt umgerechnet, ich weiß auch um die Vorteile eines RGB-Bestands. Und dennoch arbeite ich in aller Regel rein mit CMYK-Daten, weil … ich ein Gewohnheits-Dinosaurier bin? Wie macht ihr das so?

🇬🇧 Although I know about that tool from a long time, I've discovered recently that chart creating tool from Datylon company is also available for free as online creator. You're able to download chart as PDF, SVG or PNG. It's all in RGB, with size in pixels, finite number of fonts, but with very little effort I can make it print ready. There is HUGE gap of time spent on making charts practically by hand on Illustrator (even using its chart tool) vs Datylon. There's also Ai plugin that allows you to make charts right inside Illustrator, but that involves subscription.
👉🏼 https://datylon.com🇵🇱 Choć znam to narzędzie już od dawna, to dopiero dziś zauważyłem, że kreator wykresów firmy Datylon jest również dostępny za darmo z poziomu ich strony. Pozwala na pobranie wykresu w formacie PDF, SVG lub PNG. Pliki są w RGB, rozmiary w pikselach i można korzystać tylko z wybranych fontów, ale przy naprawdę małym nakładzie pracy jestem w stanie przerobić jena gotowe do druku. Różnica w czasie tworzenia wykresu między praktycznie ręcznym w przypadku Ai (tak, z wykorzystaniem narzędzia wykresów z tej aplikacji) vs kreatorem od Datylon jest OGROMNA. Jest też plugin do Ai umożliwiający tworzenie wykresów bezpośrednio w aplikacji, ale to wymaga już płatnej subskrypcji.
