Did you know that 1 in 10 babies is born premature?
Any baby born before 37 weeks is considered premature. Our Sophie was born at 23+4 weeks and was considered a 'micro-premie'. She spent about four months in a NICU (Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit) and NNU (Neo-natal Unit) in Portsmouth and then Southampton. Now you would never know what she went through to be here. Sophie is strong, intelligent, funny, and just absolutely brilliant.

Four years ago today I was taken to the maternity hospital because my waters broke.
I was 23 weeks pregnant.
It took about 2 hours to see a consultant to be told there was no fluid left and I needed to stay in. I had to move to another hospital because they had no room.

12YO is growing so quickly that he no longer fits in his new 14/16 XL clothing. I will NEVER complain about him outgrowing his clothes. It is an absolute miracle that this child is now taller than me & destined to be over 6' tall. Off to buy pants, shirts, and shoes — again! #prematurebaby #miracle
