It's really easy to just sit back and critique decaying municipal structures. We see the failures of the current system every single day. But critique alone doesn't house folks or feed neighborhoods. I prefer doing the hard work of building the equitable non-hierarchical society I want to see right now without waiting for some top-down salvation. So that's exactly what we're doing through The Rising Tide Fellowship. We're operationalizing Intersectional Pacifist Social Anarchism (IPSA) directly on the ground here in Western New York.
And instead of just talking theory we're putting it to work right now. Right in the dirt. The reality of our praxis means focusing heavily on decentralized mutual aid so neighbors can actively protect each other physically and financially instead of relying on a broken service model. We're also utilizing non-extractive frameworks to decommodify essential assets and democratize capital (because the current extractive setup is just hot garbage) to build up a genuine solidarity economy. Building this solidarity economy means engaging in the deliberate and sustained community labor required to counteract systemic socio-economic decay specifically targeting historically redlined corridors like Masten and Ellicott right here in Buffalo.
We're repairing the soil and the economy and our own spirits all at once. Like we say in the Fellowship a rising tide lifts all boats.
