Found this masterpiece in my archive. Unfortunately, I'm not sure who the artist is. The artwork is titled Vužalki (Вужалкі), 2004.
In Belarusian #mythology Vužalki are the daughters of the #Natrix King (The King of #Snakes). Naked, adorned with abundant gold jewelry, which they sometimes lose. Harmless to humans. Always surrounded by snake guardians.

To start the week, a smiley Green Man (or rather yellow) I found at Abbey Dore in #Herefordshire. The abbey dates back to the 12th Century but was expanded a century later. The Green Man perhaps therefore dates from the 13th Century. #GreenMan #pagan #PreChristian #church #medieval #medievalsky

In pre-Christian Poland, harvest began with the Pierwszy Snopek – the first sheaf of grain was placed in the home in ceremony. Believed to hold the spirit of the field, it was blessed and its grains saved for sowing, Szczodre Gody, or spring livestock – a promise of prosperity until the next harvest. ✨ -
