I think I've fixed the problem I was having with my #powkiddyRGB30 . I got a new SanDisk ultra 16gb SD card and flashed it with #ArkOS. I haven't had an issue with my games going missing after several reboots so hopefully this is the end of it! Had to reinstall all my ports but it was doable.

But the #Powkiddy #RGB10X is an interesting option as well; similar performance as the #RG35XXPlus so it's one analog stick could do some #PS1 #gaming! It's got official support from #Batocera and #ArkOS, but I bet it gets #Rocknix support soon.

I picked up a #powkiddy #x55 retro gaming handheld last month but returned it shortly after - it had an issue where it just stopped booting. But I loved it, so I bought another last week.

Interestingly, the first one arrived with the #JELOS system, while the second one came with the older #emuelec system. I must have got some aged stock or something the second time around.

Emuelec is quick to boot and pretty straight forward. I like it. It just doesn't have #Moonlight streaming built in.

Why yes, I like to live dangerously and play video games while I'm in the bathtub.

@Nawer_Rapter have you considered a Linux or Android handheld? The ones made by #Anbernic #Miyoo #Powkiddy and #RetroidPocket are pretty easy to use and come with a ton of games, including GBA. I have an #RG35XX with #GarlicOS that works great!

Testing more retro gaming handhelds 🎮

I want to love the Retroid Pocket 3+, but all three of the units I've purchased have screen issues. I pre-ordered a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, so hopefully that screen is good.

I also tested the Powkiddy RGB30 and the Anbernic RG405M. I've annotated that photo with some thoughts on each device.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a #Powkiddy #RGB30 handheld for my birthday, and I've had a few weeks to play with it now... So what's it like?

Well, it's great... it's big selling point is the lovely 1:1 screen, which is big, bright and clear. It makes it absolutely perfect for #Gameboy, #NGPC and #GameGear games, as well as #NES and #SNES at 8:7. Gameboy Color is especially nice on it.

I got the yellow version, which is close to "spice orange" in person, for fans of that GameCube variant.

My case protector for the #Powkiddy #RGB30 is complete. In combination with a glass protector, it should shield my powkiddy from falls, scratches and other abuse. I also added a subtile #pico8 logo on the back. This case is meant to be flexible and should be printed in #TPU or a similar flexible filament.

I bought a #Powkiddy #RGB30 for #Pico8 game development and as a dedicated pico-8 gaming device. The RGB30 doesn't come with a case, so I decided to model one. Before starting, a reference model is useful to work with in order to keep the design in scope.
