Oh bloody hell, please don’t whilst I’m trying to stop the servers from throwing a fit over the first power cut.

To be fair, though,

“We believe the issue is an underground network cabling fault that initially interrupted power to 4092 properties. However, we have managed to divert power back to some properties, so 78 properties are still affected.”

That’s pretty good going getting 98% of affected properties back on power within 2 minutes. Mild praise for UK Power Networks.

It's back to work, an hour later than usual this week. My last month until retirement (again. I have been a pensioner since 1994). I hardly noticed not sitting in a train yesterday, although I don't travel that often on a Sunday.

Today our train has the inner lights switched off, but I can see other passengers by the light of their mobiles!

Let us see what fun this week brings.

☝🏼Are we talking about a single point of failure?

In the social network we can read multiple theories about the root cause:

- sabotage
- Putin
- Rare atmospheric conditions
- Trump

Usually, the most simple answer use to be the correct one: in my opinion is a single point of failure.

I would like to think that the #powercut is because a compound of multiple problems, which could make sense.

However, we don't know yet the root cause.

I hope our governments perform a proper Root Cause Analysis and make it public.
