I am curious if the strange ordering at Porto's is a carryover from Cuba, or if it's just ancient. You have to order all your requests with whoever takes your order at the pastry counter. They don't pack it one item at a time, instead, they write it all down on a pad and then go start collecting your order. You then wait for your order, and then you pay for it. When you pay for it, you can THEN order drinks and sandwiches. *BUT* the drinks and sandwiches are in two different lines. You pick up your drink from a different set of people in a different counter. Then you go to the sandwich counter and pick up your sandwich. There must be some history to that system... #portos

Bummed about La Brea Bakery closing their location on La Brea in LA. We loved that place.
Seeing a lot of comments on Facebook about Porto's (Disney is gaining a Porto's and losing a La Brea) and about how there is no line at La Brea on La Brea.
But that was one of the reasons we loved La Brea vs. Porto's or République, which are also great. We're sleep-deprived parents with an 8 month old. Not standing in line is a big perk.
