Add to that, #Portlands "homeless villages". Nothing but concentration camps for homeless people ran by a (MAGA) Christian cult called Urban Alchemy.

  5. There have historically been two bridges at the south end of Cherry Street in Toronto. The currently broken 'southern Strauss Trunnion Bascule Bridge' over the dead-end ship channel, and this bridge, from 104 years ago today over the Keating Channel and the mouth of the Don River. It was once replaced, and now the Port Lands rejuvenation has included new bridges, slightly west.

  9. There were other questions in the survey about the airport, asking you to select all the statements you agree with, but every statement listed was about how awesome and important the airport is. Nothing about what concerns you might have.

I was almost impressed. If I were still teaching basic survey design, I would have kept this as an example of the dark side of using surveys to manufacture the illusion of support for a particular political position.

  14. I call this a “shit question” because any professional survey designer would recognize it immediately as two different questions pretending to be one. Badly-formed questions never give you good data. So either the survey designer was incompetent, or the question was deliberately designed to get environmentally-concerned people to sound like they support jets.

  19. So, of course electric aircraft are not a thing (yet) and won’t be for years. But they didn’t actually ask about electric — they asked about “alternative fuels”. Like, perhaps, jet fuel? That was so controversial flying over protected lands on the Toronto Islands?

Then they followed up with this shit question:

  24. The survey had one sketchy question that asked if you thought the airport should “expand its routes” — which sounds good, except that would require jet aircraft to do, which is not mentioned. Then they put up this question next:

  29. Survey malfeasance!

I was asked today to participate in an online survey about Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport. BB is a small airport, on an island off downtown. It has small prop aircraft only, running short commercial flights to nearby cities in Canada and the USA. It’s super convenient and much faster and easier than our big airport. BUT the people running it have been gunning for years to introduce jets, an unpopular measure for environmental reasons.

  34. Toronto: Cherry Beach / Portlands Redevelopment: Multi design housing, community gardens, shared heating / cooling, green roofs, minimal footprint, maintaining beach and forest & nature trails. Best = removal of the industrial areas, PCBs and other pollutants. #Toronto #Portlands #Nature #Environment #Green #cherryBeach chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/diva-portal.org/smash/get/diva But it don't look so ideal right now:
