I still listen to this basically weekly- at least monthly. Gross cover, Cannibal Corpse style riffing and brutality, dynamics, I like it just as much as (if not more than) any Cannibal record. 💀 20 Buck Spin ftw.

Here's one I've been meaning to feature as a #ThursDeath for a while. I'm always down for more gross, grody death metal, so we have to talk about Portland, Oregon's AUTOPHAGY and their debut LP from 2022, 'Bacteriophage'. Over these 9 tracks, there are endless grotesque, churning OSDM style riffs, tons of drum dynamics, and those cavernous, deep, guttural vocals. Hope we get another from these guys soon. A masterful record.

I remember the days when you’d go to a show and look forward to reading the write up about it in a local weekly a day or three later – you know, just to relive it.

Just got back from THIS show, and it was so perfect that I wish that kind of thing were still around.

I don’t know why this is so funny to me, but I discovered this band by looking up the new guitar teaching studio that just popped up near our neighborhood, seeing a photo of the instructor, and thinking “something tells me she’s into metal”.
