Porteus Kiosk (https://porteus-kiosk.org) nutzen wir schon seit ein paar Jahren für Kiosk-PCs und unser "Fahrgastfernsehen". Es ist auch ok, dass es jetzt ein paar Euronen kosten (20% Discount für Educational).
Nun guck ich gerade noch mal etwas ernsthafter bei Porteus Desktop (https://www.porteus.org). Das modulare Konzept ist sehr nett. Mal sehen, ob ein LDAP-Login relativ einfach zu ergänzen ist

Porteus Kiosk (https://porteus-kiosk.org) nutzen wir schon seit ein paar Jahren für Kiosk-PCs und unser "Fahrgastfernsehen". Es ist auch ok, dass es jetzt ein paar Euronen kosten (20% Discount für Educational).

Porteus v6 kann man nun nur noch über ein "Customer Panel" herunterladen, worüber man eine personalisierte Iso kriegt.
"starting with 6.0.0 release all our systems have automatic updates service enabled by default and require an active subscription to be fully operational."
Es kommt scheinbar "nur" eine wegklickbare Nag-Meldung nach dem Start, dass die "Automatic updates subscription" nicht aktiv oder ausgelaufen ist.

J'ai un souci avec l'installation d'un #Linux léger sur mon vénérable Asus #EeePC701 de 2009 doté de 1 Go de Ram et de 4 Go de SSD .
J'ai tenté d'installer plusieurs distributions légères, dont #Lubuntu, #PuppyLinux, #BusenLabs, #Porteus et #CrunchBangPlusPlus.
A chaque fois, ça plantouille à l'étape "installation du système"... alors que le partitionnement s'est bien déroulé juste avant. Pour le moment, je ne sais pas comment passer cet obstacle ! Des idées ? #GeekHelp

Actually @klaatu said literally that on hackerpublicradio.org/eps.php?…, I just wasn't paying attention apparently (or didn't read the show notes and maybe he didn't say it in the episode).
I was 100% sure there was a Porteus review on TuxJam, but there is no mention anywhere on the site. Maybe what I'm misremembering is that Klaatu actually reviewed it *twice*, half a year apart, on gnuworldorder.info/#12x11, and then in the HPR episode linked above.
