  4. In other news: I got (another) small portable b/w CRT TV. A "Realistic Portavision". Love the handle it has, reminds me of a SX64 to a certain degree. So I had to test it with my C64 :-) Overall condition is nice and it works just fine. Now I'll part with one of the more recent, smaller other CRTs I have to make room for it (and to calm my conscience).

  5. Phase 0, the recapping, of the #restoration of this #Shiljalis #PortableTV was completed yesterday.
    Today I completed phase 1: bypassing the RF modulator and conditioning a #composite signal for video input.
    Next will be feeding audio to the internal amplifier, and then tuck everything inside the box, preferably without drilling anything.

    I can't believe how sharp this screen has become. And just two weeks ago it was in a pile of junk, drenched in water, at a #fleamarket.

    Tough, I wonder why my pixel keeps adding this bluish tint to every #blackandwhite CRT...

  7. Current status of the #Shiljalis #PortableTV I found last week: I'm slowly replacing the smaller caps and keep checking it. It's looking better and better.
    I have yet to attempt the #compositemod which I will do after I finished with the caps.

    Testing with a #SEGA #mastersystemii.

    Still, has anyone ever wondered if there are #analogtv pirate stations around? Non in my zone, alas, but I might keep a tv with an analog demodulator just for the sake of hunting in the future.

    Imagine finding one transmitting Max Headroom clips...
