I'll save my commentary until I've had a chance to read over some analysis. So far, the only people reporting on this seem to be spicy artists ... and a group that thinks this is totally excellent and about time.

Support queer and spicy artists. Fuck Kickstarter and every other company that has already betrayed us for prudes.

One of the tags on the above "Katy Perry Sploshed" post is #FetishFuel which I have been using for many years. It's a very handy tag and descriptive term. I got it from Dr. Faustus back when he was co-blogging on ErosBlog but he says he got it from the TV Tropes site before they had their huge #pornocalypse moment back in 2010 and deleted all the fetish fuel tropes from the site, many of which he had labored to help them curate. No he's not still bitter. (Yes he is.)

In my circles there's a lot of talk about all the resources (which include a ton of erotica and porn) that are vanishing or have already vanished from the open web as pornocalypse and the general decline of independent websites take their toll.

One of my readers tricked ChatGPT into generating a summary of the content at ErosBlog. Among the confabulatory bullshit that came back was the claim that Erosblog is "often" referred to as "the sex blog of record." Which is sweet, but, um...

It's a lie! Nobody ever referred to ErosBlog like that. I would have noticed. Confirming, the phrase doesn't exist in any search engine.

On a whim, I set a smol pornocalypse test for Google's Gemini AI chatbot. I asked it for summaries of the content at a pair of decades-old blogs: ErosBlog and BoingBoing. It returned a very nice summary of BoingBoing, but went all "Sorry, Dave, I can't..." on me about ErosBlog.
