The Tories (conservatives in UK-speak) have lost government, bigly, and have also lost the plot. Their PopCon gathering (Popular Conservatism 😁😆😅😂🤣) had one (1) sitting MP present (who wasn't speaking) and Jacob Reese-Mogg, the man (?) who had to take his nanny campaigning, was for a short time the only sensible person there. Then he reverted back to normal.

It’s interesting that, having lost to Labour, the Tories have decided the votes they lost to Reform are the ones they need to chase. Because the ones they lost to Labour and LibDems don’t matter. Nor do the voters who stayed home. They never wanted those votes anyways.

In every single election over at least the last 50 years, the majority of UK voters have voted for Left or Centre-Left parties. Every single one. Including, obviously, the one last week.
So, it’s pretty deluded of #Braverman to say, this week, that the reason the Tories lost is because some Tories aren’t leaning far enough to the Right.

Somehow, despite being the exact demographic to be intrigued by this story (someone who spent their teenage years watching Neighbours religiously) I missed it: Holly Valance at #PopCon admiring Truss and Rees Mogg.
Reminds me of 1998…at uni, my partner clubbed together with flatmates to buy the domain name for Holly Vallence…yup they were studying law, politics and maths…but couldn’t spell.

We have environmental destroyers close to home as well. Someone is paying for Liz #Truss to keep spouting this authoritarian bile. Todays efforts at the deliberately innocent sounding #PopCon:
‘the ideology of leftists disguising themselves as environmentalists is about “taking power away from families and giving it to the state and unelected bodies” and is drowning out the need for cheaper energy, and hit out at the government for “pandering to the anti-capitalists”

I went to a workshop at #PopCon in Seattle about record collectors getting rid of their collectionsAnd it turned out to be about collectors who did not have irreplaceable one of a kind 78s, but just huge collections of every Led Zeppelin record or whatever
So, really expensive collections, but nothing a museum would want
So that turned out to be interesting, but in a different way
It was more about estate planning, and what you or your kids would have to do
