Not sure I know what I think of this one. It certainly wasn't the read I thought it would be. I was expecting a gritty crime thriller, it turned out to be a black comedy. Sheriff Nick Corey appears to be an amenable, bumbling idiot who turns a blind eye to crime and does as little work as possible. In reality he is a ruthless and manipulative killer and womanizer. Very dark and sometimes funny, but pretty aimless. #JimThompson #Pop1280
