In dieser Woche feiern wir gleich 2 Geburtstage von denkwürdigen Wissenschaftlerinnen. Beide wurden an einem 7. November geboren. Die erste ist Marie Curie: Dieses Jahr wäre sie 158 Jahre alt geworden.
Sie führte den Begriff #radioaktiv ein und entdeckte die Elemente #Polonium und #Radium. Zudem stellte sie die Hypothese auf, dass #Radioaktivität eine feste Eigenschaft bestimmter Elemente ist.
Für ihre Arbeiten erhielt sie 1903 den Nobelpreis für Physik und 1911 den Nobelpreis für Chemie.

En #KDE hay algunos scripts, pero me solían hacer muchas cosas raras… que si #Polonium o #Bismuth (discontinuado), etc. todo muy verde. Debería ser algo propio de Plasma.

@BoydStephenSmithJr I used #Polonium for quite a while, and then switched to #Krohnkite. The latter doesn't try to interoperate with #plasma's native tiling and is much more rock solid

Lors de son voyage, il a effectué des mesures du bruit de fond de l'environnement spatial, des flux de particules chargées du vent solaire. En orbite autour de la Lune puis à la surface, il a effectué des mesures de distribution de #radon et de #polonium.

#Omakub videos will do more to sway developers towards #Linux than many of the "deeper" technical reasons. The popularity of TextMate for Ruby on Rails development back in the day (again thanks to these kind of videos by DHH) was a big factor in the mass #MacOS adoption by the dev community.
And it's not shallow to prioritize eye candy and ease of configuration. I personally don't enjoy having to configure things that should really have smarter defaults. It's like writing code with lots of boilerplate.
Which is why I find #LazyVim absolutely wonderful. My "vim config" is now a handful of lines. I use #Zellij occasionally and I like it as well. I am finding it harder to get rid of my custom #Tmux and #Tmuxp configs, but I am sure it will happen at some point. Have I mentioned yet that I hate configuring things for the sake of configuring things?
For #Zsh I use #Power10k which has a quick and fast automatic setup.
My distro of choice is #KDENeon because I get all the latest #KDE eye candy without having to fiddle with anything. I use the #Polonium tiling script for KWin because it gives me a nice tiling wm experience without configuration.
Finally I use a #Thinkpad that's on the #Ubuntu hardware compatibility list. It was great value for money, and everything worked out of the box with Linux. Installing drivers manually is also configuration, but worse because it's a series of steps instead of a declarative config file.

[DORN: Objective #Moon] ... achieved! This Sunday morning, the Chang' E6 probe landed in the Antarctic-Aitken Basin on the far side of the #Moon.
For the next 48 hours after its arrival, Chang'e 6 will be sampling the lunar surface, with the aim of obtaining 2 kg ... while the French #DORN instrument will be measuring #radon and #polonium on the surface of our satellite ...

So far #KDE #Plasma6 itself is running beautifully on all my devices, but Bismuth just cannot work with it. I've set up #Polonium but it's not giving me nearly the same smoothness I was getting prior, particularly because monofocusing on a window throws off my layout once I return to tiling.
Decided to give #Hyprland a shot so I can get that full function back plus some. Working incredibly well so far, but customizing is something. It feels like I'm using #NeoVIM for the first time again. 😅
