  1. Mandatory Fleabane photo. This one was #StillFlowering on Tuesday by a path at Hadleigh country park in #Essex. Its friend is one of its #PollinatorPals - a Brown Argus #butterfly. They look rather like female Common Blues, which was what I thought it was until I took a closer look. #WildflowerHour #UKWildlife #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography

  2. Bird's-foot Trefoil for #WildflowerHour. Plus a Silver-studded Blue which is both one of its #PollinatorPals and also one of its predators, as its the main food-plant for the caterpillars. #Thursley NNR on Monday. #Surrey #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography

  3. I tried to tell the Large Skipper #butterfly it was late for the #PollinatorPals challenge, but it insisted on posing on this rather nice Marsh Thistle at Ravensroost Wood #Wiltshire #WildlifeTrust reserve at lunchtime, so I wasn't going to argue. #WildflowerHour #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography #UKWildlife

  4. A Happy and Blessed Summer Solstice to all! (Winter Solstice to Southern friends!) Drink Summer's Nectar!(from last week, only raindrops being drunk today!)
This should be a work day, but really muddy/skiddy roads (in parts) kept me home..so far lazing indoors (there may have been some chocolate involved..), but going to get out and enjoy the wind and rain in a little.

  5. A small fly of uncertain species* being #PollinatorPals with a patch of Catsear at Farnham Park yesterday. #WildflowerHour #Slough #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography

    * Uncertain on my part. The fly itself of course isn't in any doubt.

  6. A Wild Carrot flower with two rather fine wasps, possibly Ichneumonid types although they're famously very hard to identify. Also, if you look closely, there's a very well camouflaged spider lurking. All three are mainly there to prey on the other #PollinatorPals. #WildflowerHour #Bristol #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography

  7. A hover fly, in this case I think Migrant Hover Fly, being one of the many #PollinatorPals for the Common Ragwort that grows between cracks in the paving in my front yard. #WildflowerHour #Swindon #Wiltshire #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography

  8. #WildflowerHour #PollinatorPals
A marmelade hoverfly on elderflower, Anania verbascalis on yarrow and a wasp called Lestica clypeata (kameelhalswesp in Dutch, literally camelneck wasp) on yarrow.

  9. This week's #WildflowerHour challenge is one of my favourites - #PollinatorPals. Take a photo of a wild flower with an insect on it. Dead easy, right?

  10. Went to the local park this morning looking for flowers with their #PollinatorPals - this is Hemp Agrimony with a rather large hoverfly. Not sure what species of hoverfly, but it's definitely pollinating the flowers. #WildflowerHour #Swindon #Wiltshire #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography

  11. This place is buzzing!

I couldn't get any #PollinatorPals on wildflowers today but I did see this bee on a garden flower (iNaturalist tells me it's probably a kind of blunthorn bee, which is new to me. I'm looking forward to learning about it) and a lovely Herb Robert growing round the corner for #WildflowerHour today.
