Race teams (led by Micheal Jordan) win big with settlement of lawsuit with NASCAR folding and granting all teams the permanent charters they wanted.
The NASCAR charter system is the equivalent of the franchise model used in other sports. In NASCAR it guarantees 36 teams a spot in every top-level cup series race and a fixed portion of the revenue stream.
Team charters had been revocable by NASCAR -- and the revenue sharing had to change. Police and prosecutors over charged this woman for her emotional outburst accusing her of planning a mass shooting or terrorist attack despite there being no other evidence of her possessing the means, materials or plans for such an act.
Charges which could have put her away for up to 15years. The judge set a very high bond on her of $100k!
The fundraiser to bail here out has been discontinued.
