To eb fair, there were a number of amazing soundtracks written by Italian composers back then. Some of the #poliziottesco movies' OST where unbelievably entertaining.
If you fancy look at #Calibro35, they release new music in that style.

Savage Three (Fango bollente, 1975), a nasty little movie combining poliziottesco and psycho killer movie elements. Superbly chilling performance by Joe Dallesandro combining evil and innocence. Great movie.

Syndicate Sadists (1975) is a 1975 Umberto Lenzi poliziottesco that's really a lone wolf hero vigilante movie. Tomas Milian stars and he has a personal score to settle. There's a kidnapping. Not Lenzi's best but Milian's charisma caries it.

I just watched Caliber 9 (or Milano Calibro 9) and I might not be a huge fan of poliziottesco films but I liked this one. It knew it's audience and had fun with it. Also: fun cast (behind it's boring lead).
