"The official results from Sunday’s Polish parliamentary elections show that [...] the ruling national-conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party won the largest share of the vote but has lost its majority in parliament. Meanwhile, the mainstream opposition [...] together have a majority that would allow them to form a government."

The Donald is back - Donald Tusk - and Poland is back in the heart of the European Union.
The Civic Coalition (KO) with the Third Way and New Left parties, an alliance led by Donald Tusk, has secured 248 of the 460 seats, giving him a path to form a coalition government.
The ruling rightwing Law and Justice (PiS) led by Jarosław Kaczyński remains the biggest party with 194 seats https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-67123584.amp

Okay, apparently I may have a positive surprise with #PolandVotes - not veto-proof but looks like there's a viable non-crazy coalition possible.
It's still just exit polls and I'm burned by #Slovakia but apparently Poland's exit polls have historically been reliable. So let's hope this holds true by tomorrow evening. 🤞

Exit polls look good in #PolandVotes but why haven’t they counted the votes ?

CW: Politics, elections in Poland
Are there any Polish users in here who can confirm that there is a good chance that PiS might have lost the elections today?
That would be great news, seems like Poland is not as lost as Hungary, where all hope is gone.

Many big elections recently - expected but disappointing result in #Australia (RIP #VoteYesAustralia). Even moreso in #Slovakia - that Progressive Slovakia lead in the exit poll was a cruel crumb of hope.
Anyway, it's #PolandVotes today. I've faith they'll get out of their current populism-hole (unlike Hungary) but I don't think it'll be today. Let's hope I'm wrong.
And that long-term something more sensible replaces #PiS so I can make the "they're all the Sejm" joke and have it be accurate.
