Also got my first shiny of this save file! GALAHAD the shiny Hoothoot. It doesn't look all that different from its base color, to be honest, haha. Oh well

After beating the trainers in Sprout Tower, I remembered that I can technically enter Route 46 (tho only the very bottom part of the path, obviously I can't go all the way up Mt. Silver) and caught some more good guys, including a Fire-type Corsola... would've been nice to have you before I went to Sprout Tower 😩

Taking on the interminable Sprout Tower 😑 This was already kind of an underwhelming place in the original (full of trainers who ONLY send out Bellsprout? bleh) made even more tedious here since Bellsprout is Steel-type and thus resists everything except (so far) Bayleef's and Pidgey's fighting attacks...

Also traded my Yanma TAKETONBO for HOLLY the Oddish. That trading screen goes by quick so it was hard to get screenshots of it lol 💀

I made a new save file because I noticed that Fool's Gold devs released a v1.3.2, which both brings new content and also is the final release, so I figured I might as well check that out. You can see my travels from my first save here:

I heard the hot new #Pokemon game is out so I've jumped on that bandwagon. This is what y'all were talking about, right? 👀
(Yes okay sorry this is a bit, I am using my #Miyoo to play through Pokemon Fool's Gold, a #romhack of Pokemon Crystal with alternate forms/types for all 251 1st and 2nd gen!)

Okay... I was not prepared for that Slowking doing Execute and taking NIGHTMARE down with it 😭 Quite a tough battle, glad I am not doing a permadeath run, haha. But I did get my MINERALBADGE!!

Odds and ends. Got HM02 (Fly) and taught it to PENNYWISE the Koffing, then flew back to Olivine City to deliver the Secret Potion to Jasmine at the top of the Lighthouse. Now to take on Jasmine herself...

Beating Chuck wasn't too bad, and the only new Pokemon he had was a Cloyster. I was quite surprised to get a TM with Dynamic Punch though, I forgot that this was a Gen II move. (I mostly associate it with Gen IV and beyond due to Machamp's No Guard ability, ahaha)

These are some really fun designs playing with secondary typing. Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan no longer being pure Fighting is great and should honestly be canon lol

Trying to encounter all the trainers I missed on my way from Olivine to Cianwood. NIGHTMARE evolved into a very scary-looking Ghost/Ground Ampharos, and I managed to snag a shiny Tentacruel named AKANYATSU near the Whirlpool Islands

KENYA also evolved into this very cool cockatrice. Interesting that she's Dragon/Flying and not Rock or Poison 🤔 Still, cool design tho, I approve

Also, BLUE LED finally evolved into a Jigglypuff!! I wonder if the way to evolve into Wigglytuff is still the same...

I ended up taking a (way too long) nap. Instead of taking on the gym, I went down Route 47 but then had to turn back because I don't have the required HMs to go much further. Then I went surfing around the waters around Cianwood and encountered some great Pokemon in trainer battles (and by great I mean terrifying 💀)

Getting my bearings back bit by bit. I'm in Cianwood City! I returned SHUCKIE the Shuckle to Kirk (I forgot that it was just a loaner, d'oh) so caught my own and named him SHUCKS. Also caught IPOD the Water/Bug Kabuto and SHIKISHIMA the Water/Steel Qwilfish
Gonna do some chores and take on the gym!!
