Even though I have repeatedly expressed that I have persistent pain in my foot along the 4th metatarsal, the doctor swears that an ankle brace will fix my foot. I don't get it. How does strengthening my ankle fix the rest of it?
So I'm walking and cringing every other step and waiting for this to magically fix it.

Had a chat with a #Podiatrist today - the next step that was reccommended to me in dealing with my #ChronicPain from #CTEV - and they have suggested that I start with custom made insoles.
Will see how those go, but she did say that I may have to get custom made shoes, as my feet are super odd (wider than they are long, higher arch on one side, random numb patches in several places on my soles .. etc)
I just want to be able to take a walk for longer than 15 minutes, and not have it lead to days and days of stiffness and pain. If the insoles can do that, maybe I can put off having to get the expensive custom shoes.

Hi.
I'm early 50s Irish-born Brit.
Raised in Newcastle, lived in East Yorkshire all my adult life. Both and neither place feels like home.
Podiatrist in the NHS for over 25 years and I've mostly loved my job.
Vegan. (Still can't remember the e-numbers).

Crocheter. Possibly the slowest crocheter in the west but I enjoy it.
