Trying the new cross-device syncing function of #podcastaddict

The #Memacs framework just learned how to get your #PodcastAddict #podcast episodes into your #Emacs #Orgmode with a new module:

It's using the app's backup files which I have synchronized to my desktop anyhow:

uv --project path/to/memacs run memacs_podcastaddict --backup-dir /path/to/backup/PodcastAddict/ -o ~/org/memacs/podcasts.org_archive

My personal setup now has 2819 finished episodes on my agenda. 😲 👍

@fholldorff Mich hat es zumindest überzeugt. Nur Podcasts kann #Qobuz nicht. Dafür verwende ich auf meinem (noch) Android-Handy die App #radio_de. Auf den Tablets der Kinder habe ich dafür #podcastaddict installiert.

Bis jetzt habe ich nichts vermisst.

Neuentdeckung der Woche. Noch nicht gehört, aber kommt gleich in die sich-automatisch-abspielende Playlist in #PodcastAddict

Werde #deezer testen, US amerikanische Dienste kommen nicht infrage (#unplugtrump).

Für Podcasts nutze ich eh seit gefühlter Ewigkeit #podcastaddict.

Mit #freeyourmusic playlisten übertragen. Sicherheitshalber anschließend die App wieder deinstalliert und die Passwörter bei deezer und spotify geändert und neu angemeldet.

¿Alguien usando #PodcastAddict por acá?
Me estuve fijando si habría alguna forma de ver el "historial de escucha", y no le he encontrado forma.... existirá eso? o sea ver el listado de episodios escuchados, en el orden que los escuchamos (de lo más reciente a lo más viejo en principio al menos)

Habe das Gefühl zu selten, aber es ist schon geil programmieren zu können. Man erschafft halt doch was, auch wenn es manchmal nur eine Kleinigkeit ist oder ein kleines Problem löst.
Meine Verlobte wollte von #PodcastAddict zu #Antennapod wechseln. Es gibt allerdings kein Tool um die bereits gehörten Episoden der abonnierten Podcasts zu übertragen.
Nach 1-2 Stunden:
- (fast) alle Episoden haben den richtigen Status
- ich hab Übung in python und mysql
- ich bin glücklich, weil es geklappt hat

At this point it might actually be easier to just stick with my existing podcast app (#PodcastAddict) and manually copy over my progress between devices or attempt to use their manual cloud backup/restore feature than trying to find one with true sync.

Does anybody want to write a #Memacs module for #PodcastAddict?

This way, your listened episodes (finishing timestamp) will appear in your #Orgmode agenda.

I've analysed the backup data - should be doable within a couple of hours if it's your first Memacs module: backup is a ZIP with an SQLite3 DB file that holds all relevant data in 2 tables.

It has so many features I don't understand how people are living without:
- download and keep the X last episodes
- auto add new downloads to playlist
- audo delete when complete
- ads to a playlist when downloaded so I can just hit go and catch up
- and I can customize all this and more for each individual feed

I think people are over-complicating the whole subscription thing for #podcasts (getting ad free or extra content). The subscriber only needs a #RSS-url that expires when they stop paying. You can be on any platform using any #RSSReader or #PodcastApp. No waiting for an Android or iOS specific option.

In my opinion the #RSSFeed is the best thing about #Patreon. I don't have to visit the site to get that extra content, I just add the feed to #PodcastAddict and it works like any other podcast.
