Hard to believe she’s almost 9. She came to my friend Jessie (of #SadieTheCat and #MaggieTheDog) as a 3 week old foster on 8/10/2014 and I got to babysit her for that first week (while Jess toured colleges). That week left me in love with #OpalKitten & fostering. I adopted her that Oct. IIRC, I started fostering the following summer.

Here’s a story the shelter’s marketing dept posted 2 yrs ago about #SammyAndHisLegendaryPurr. Some details are wrong (it was mid March, for example, when he arrived) but they got the gist.
Adopting him was one of my better life choices. He eased the pain of losing Sadie with his undaunted joy of living (despite his chronic health issues). He follows me around (like Sadie did) & makes me laugh every damn day.

Someone I used to know considered Mary to be antisocial. Nope. She’s just got very firm boundaries. Be in one of the spots where she feels safe, let her come to you and she’s ALL about the loves. Her tail even puffs up and quivers with cuddle happiness.

Another dreary cold day here but Henry and I managed to get outside, briefly, to sniff the fresh air.
