There is social pressure to disregard safety protections such as wearing a #mask or elbow bumping as opposed to shaking hands.
It seems like a sort of tribal affirmation "I am not afraid of no stinking microbes and our friendship is worth more than any increment of risk this close contact entails".
And with that, millions and millions of people have contracted #diseases including #bubonic #plague #smallpox #ebola #meningitis #polio #cholera #diptheria #pertussis #covid #influenza #pneumonia #tuberculosis #mpox #malaria #hepatitis
