I was once again in #Dresden in March.
By then, spring had arrived and my mood had improved considerably. 😄
My notes on this drawing:
"Who would have thought that getting up after sitting on the floor and drawing for two hours could be so tedious?"
(By the way, when I'm in Dresden, I like to stay at the little Hotel Villa Herzog.)

This is a friends house. She saw me drawing and came over for a chat. She thought it was funny that I had even drawn the cat stairs. (It's the plank leaning against the tree.) I had no idea what it was when I drew it, but I drew it anyway. 😄

Another drawing from March.
I tried to draw the same view last October and was completely overwhelmd. That's why I simply left out various details.
There were some things I couldn't recognize or interpret.
Now I'm trying simply to draw a line without always knowing what it actually is.

I had so much fun painting at Federal Hill in Old Washington on Saturday. It's always inspiring to see my community come together, bringing all their different talents to create something beautiful and special--in this case raise money to preserve a 200 year old landmark.

Back to watercolour today. This is my super low tinting palette. Hence the weird look. Also, first try of this plein air setup with magnetic clips. It works well enough.

Yesterday, I tried drwaing while standing for the first time. The lines became very shaky and I almost got a cramp in my hand from holding the #sketchbook (A5)
Probably smaller sketchbooks are easier to hold?

In our village there is a tradition of raising the maypole and dancing into May. It's a great Party that lasts until after midnight.
Two days later, I went there in the evening to draw the maypole.
Yellow and blue are the colors of my village. The 14 guild signs depict the old professions that were formerly practiced here. In fact, there are some that I cannot name with certainty.

A few days later I sat in front of the barn that was shown in the previous drawing.
This house belongs to a farming family. The farmers wife saw ma drawing the house and came over for a chat. She was pleased that I drew her childhood home.
She came back to me and gave me a bag of apples.
This drawing isn't one of my favorits. It's a bit boring. I used the #neocolor2 too diffidently/cautious. Normally, Neocolor 2 colors are very vibrant.
