After much deliberation, I brought my PlayStation Portal on an international trip. It did not work on the in-flight Wi-Fi (which I *mostly* expected to be the case), but it was clutch for airports and a couple of restful evenings.
Sony 1000% should allow you to download PS1 games to play locally when offline. Even just that would make it the perfect travel console for me; as it stands, it’s still a brick without a reliable high-speed Internet connection.
