Out in the #PacificOcean, between #Hawaii & #California, is the Great #Pacific #Garbage Patch, a swirl of #PlasticTrash >2X the size of Texas. As pieces of plastic tumble against each other, they break down into particles tiny enough to be borne aloft on the wind [& inhaled].

Woke up with a stiff wrist, looks like I overdid it with hauling heavy stuff yesterday.
So the woodchipping I had planned for today got postponed. Went for a family walk down the valley instead, where the last snow is just melting away. Less wind there too, quite pleasant.
Picked up some trash people have "lost" up by the road and then went home to put some ice on the wrist, which always helps.

Here’s a great example of why it is important not to leave plastic trash lying around. This common myna bird seems very proud of its “catch” but that plastic bag really isn’t something it should be trying to eat.
