There is a date for INC-5.3! But, it is only for "administrative purposes with the focus on election of officers including for the position of Chair". It will take place in Geneva on 7 February, immediatedly after the first session of the ISP-CWP (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution).

Following 10 days of negotiations, #INC5 talks to develop a global #PlasticsTreaty adjourned on 15 August in Geneva without consensus on a text of the instrument.

#Similar to air #pollution & lead, #plastics' harms can be mitigated cost-effectively by evidence-based, transparently tracked, effectively implemented, & adequately financed laws & policies. To address plastics' harms globally, #UN member states unanimously resolved in 2022 to develop a comprehensive, legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, namely the Global #PlasticsTreaty covering the full lifecycle of #plastic.
