On Sunday, the local fish store recommended me a yoyo loach for snail control without any qualifications or follow up questions. 🤦 I just watched it breach my sand cap and expose the underlayer of garden soil. I dunno how to address this with holiday travel coming up.

New addition to the plant family! 🪴 It was sold as “water rose” (물장미), but I’m not sure how it’s called exactly in English. I’m looking forward to seeing the first flowers!

I don’t like the orange floating ring it came with, but it will do for now until I find another way to make it float. The red lizard whiptail catfish went on inspection as soon as I put it in the tank. 🌿🐠

Last year when I was setting up my 5G tank I got this plant. I thought it had died, but it had propagated a baby behind one of the big rocks in the tank. I moved it to my new 16G so it'd be more visible.

I think it's some sort of crypt because it doesn't have a rhizome and propagated via a long runner root, but I'd love to know _which_ crypt.

Re-scaping my secondary aquarium. This was a quarantine tank, and it was looking quite bare and plain.
I've added lots of lava rocks, plants, and moss from the main tank. I plan to start a shrimp colony here.

The final day of ‘23, a new orchid flower opened 🤗 The last three are waiting for ‘24, hope the year has more good things in store, peace and unity especially.

To send off the year, a bonus apistogramma and a pleco on leaf cleaning duty for a Red Tiger Lotus, started the tank almost 7mo ago!
