CW: Goal Met!!! Thank you so much everyone. We are incredibly grateful! ❤️🙏❤️
UPDATE: The good news is I was able to place the order in time so that they should arrive tomorrow!
The bad news is I forgot about another withdrawal from my account and now I need to try and raise the rest asap so that the charge doesn't bounce 🤦♂️
**NOTE: This post discusses a medical challenge my partner deals with. While we both deeply appreciate everyone's concern and support, please PLEASE note this is something we've been dealing with for years. I promise we've likely already tried or lack the spoons to pursue whatever miracle cure, PT exercise regimen, cream, pill, supplement, religious practice, pagan ritual, and so on you have for us. We appreciate it but this is not what we're here for at this particular moment.**
As you may already be aware, our car is not currently drivable which has forced my partner to commute to work by public transit, requiring a lot of walking. Lyft/uber isn't a practical option because depending on the time of day, it can cost almost half the wages from his shift just to get there and back.
Unfortunately, he also has severe plantar fasciitis from an insanely high foot arch. So severe in fact he's had to give up several jobs that he actually enjoyed and were good for him, and those were during times when he was less affected by his PTSD.
Last night he told me his feet are hurting like they were back then. It took him months to return to a point where he could walk for longer than a few minutes without pain. He had to call out sick for his shift today because it hurts too much.
He's in a very precarious situation. He's been employed at this job for six months now (after a two-year period of unemployment due to mental health-related problems) and has been making due, but if we can't get his fasciitis under control *now*, this may endanger his employment yet again.
While I would love to instantly raise the remaining $1400+ needed to get the car fixed, even if I *could* do that it, it's not something that can be done on someone's lunch break. (see https://beige.party/@LibertyForward1/116681550526241712)
In the meantime, every shift he works is going to dramatically increase his suffering.
He now wants to get a scooter so that like me, he can use it to get to the bus with less wear on his feet.
I've been using a little-kid's-style scooter, probably exceeding the maximum weight capacity by 25lbs or more. The wheels are so tiny that instead of rolling over obstacles, it just comes to a halt (which unfortunately does not include halting my person) and I've had at least four incidents in the past six months where I've risked injury because I either went sailing over the handlebars or fell backwards off the scooter.
I cannot let him use one like that because I am a hypocrite and because I also believe I'm a little more.. sturdy, shall we say than he is. I have more built-in padding.
But I also have been having pain in my right hand for the past two months when I landed on my wrist during a fall.
Apparently if I'm expecting him to use a safer scooter and safety equipment than what I'm currently using, supposedly I'm expected to do the same. 🙄
Therefore I have two scooters and safety equipment in an online shopping cart that can be here by tomorrow afternoon to allow him time to practice and get familiar before he works this weekend, but I've got to order as soon as humanly possible.
We're trying to make the best of a very inconvenient situation. Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
If you're willing AND able, please boost and if possible donate. If you can't donate, *do NOT feel guilty* for being in the same boat as us. Your feelings about it are valid but rest assured you needn't feel bad.

Fitness Check In Day 89: Hurricanes of Life
In my last post, I mentioned how the things were going and in the weeks that followed I did have some good things happen but I also had a lot to weigh me down. Soo much soo that I thought about quitting the blog, shutting down the website and just disappearing from social media completely. I mean would it matter if I did? Would anyone care? I do have some followers and to them I say, bless you, I see you and I thank you for reading. I will say that a wave of gloomy thoughts entered my […]https://mindbodysynergylia.com/2026/05/23/fitness-check-in-day-89-hurricanes-of-life/

Anyone here know anything about foot pain that's more on the inner side of the foot that's not quite heel not quite arch?
It's not PF, it's too far away and I regularly do exercises for that.
Just want to make sure that myofascial release isn't contraindicated, because I gave it a good massage yesterday and it's rather sore today. I know that some things don't respond well to release e.g. IT Band. It's not nerve pain. I can't make sense of foot anatomy diagrams.

I have a nasty case of #PlantarFasciitis in one foot, which causes pain on the bottom of the heel. I am basically in good health, and I do not like these old lady conditions that spring up randomly. I’m going to make one very frustrated old-old person…

Folks dealing with plantar fasciitis, you may not realize that sports tape can really help! If I tape my foot the pain goes down by 1/3rd to 1/2, which is substantial.
I use KT tape and this video:

So I've been suffering with #PlantarFasciitis for a while, months ago I made a flurry of posts about it because it was so troublesome.
Well, at the conference I'm currently leaving, I did a lot of walking. It hasn't been too much for me energy wise but my feet have complained - I even have a fat blister to show for it!
But you know which foot is fine? My right one. The telltale PF pain spot is fine! It ached a little last night but this morning it's good!
It took over a year to get better.

CW: Unsolicited Medical Advice – FEET
I started getting horrible plantar fasciitis arch pain 20 years ago in my 20s. Insoles felt better at first but made it worse with shoes off.
I used my internet powers to do my own research, and ordered this book. The info takes a few quick pages and is easily applied. Within 15 minutes of trying it, my pain subsided. It now only comes back every few years when I forget to walk right. Then I correct myself and do the stretches, gone again.
It's written by an architect who used his understanding of structural engineering to understand how the foot works. It just involves walking properly and stretching. (The tendon holding your arch together goes up into the calf, so stretch that.)
This book is short & I discovered today that it was recently added to IA, so you can read it for free. (It's out of print, so hard to find elsewhere.)

Plantar Fasciitis - I hate it!
I had it about 10 or do years ago and it eventually went away. Well, it’s back with a vengeance! I am a big walker, but can’t do as much right now. I’m glad for my bicycle since that doesn’t cause pain or aggravate it. I need to keep active but it’s hard right now. Ugh!!
Voltaren, shoes with good supports, and rest… and time and it will heal.
Any tips?
I’m not feeling very patient 😂
#PlantarFasciitis #Excercise -
I've not mentioned plantar fasciitis for a while.
After exhausting all the usual options (stretches, insoles, massage gun), I started wearing barefoot shoes. A few months ago I got an outdoorsy pair that have flexibility and a roomy toebox, but thicker grippier soles and more insulation.
The single point of pain just forward of the heel that's a classic PF symptom is largely gone.
I have achier feet at the end of the day as they're doing more work. But I think it's a win!
-
Not a very exciting post - slippers for plantar fasciitis arrived yesterday, a little too large (or are they?) - second pair ordered from Amazon as a comparison.
-
#plantarfasciitis Years of wearing slippers around the house with zero arch support - now I’m spending more time at home, the situation only got worse. Add to this: the extra walking - not a good recipe for the old feet. The insoles for the boots got a 👍from the physio, then home to order new slippers.
-
Part of my little weight loss challenge resulted in an injury that needed a trip to a physio, only the second time in my life, but money well spent. Hopefully, the plantar fasciitis will be short-lived.
-
I am wearing proper barefoot shoes. They feel nice just plodding around the house. Going on my bike to pick up the kids will be a nice test.
-
Also, the Plantation Fascist has been acting up.
So now I'm rolling my foot across a 5 lb weight to loosen up the fascia in my feet and the pain is what I imagine the little Mermaid felt when her mermaid tail turned into human feet.
-
It feels pretty lame* to have to carry a second pair of shoes with me when out, because I don't actually know which kind of going to be more comfortable today.
* I've been rightfully told off about using lame to mean something I don't like - but this time I claim it because I'm literally suffering lameness!
-
Dear #plantarFasciitis friends,
Something is happening to my feet.
I've got 3 pairs of Oofos now, 1 pair of slides and 2 pairs of shoes, because the slides have been SO comfy to wear at home. BUT.
They are *so* squishy, the whole underside of my foot is getting the same pressure. It's nice for taking weight off the sore spot on the heel, but feels like it's maybe stressing out the rest of the sole? Hurty.
I've been walking carefully, wearing thin barefoot styles shoes today. So far so good..
-
To my #plantarFasciitis friends, this feels like the most sensible video on recovery so far:
-
I bought more Oofos. Shoes this time instead of sandals. Omg, they're great, my feet are so comfortable!
I am only able to keep buying #Oofos because I've found a discounter on eBay, paying 45€ for something that's usually 120€ new!
They're a half size too big (better than the previous pair I tried and sent back for being a half size too small) but I'm keeping them because they will be good with thicker winter socks. Have just ordered the half size down in another colour.
-
I have gotten so old that I am ridiculous excited because I found insoles that fit in my low backed sneakers!
#drscholls #flatfeet #plantarfasciitis -
First, ignore the wet spot on the dog blanket. That's Benson waiting to be fed.
Second, I have officially officially entered the Comfort Orthotic Shoe Phase of #MiddleAgedHotness.
1. Dansko's pink/orange tennis sandal reminds me of the shoe my old amazing boss Laura would walk to work at the YW. (Watching her work her Board and mgmt team was an education. She was an Iron Maiden. I dug it.) I have officially become a Boss Lady, by that measure.
2. And Birkenstock's sandal gives some nice support to the PlantationFascist in my right foot.
(That's what I'm calling plantar fasciitis -- because it's giving oppression and pain.)
SIGH.

Y'all.
I think I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot. That telltale 'tight ball' feeling under my heel started yesterday.#Feet

I reckon I have #PlantarFasciitis - right foot only.
I think I had it before when heavily pregnant, but it's back. I am still somewhat overweight and have flat feet, so it's unsurprising.
But I'm a little bewildered by all the stuff that's supposedly helpful - anyone have some experience or advice they could share with me?
- Boots/socks that keep feet flexed at night?
- Insoles (which?!)
- Balls/rollers to massage the sole? It's most painful in the mornings, and comes and goes over the day.
-
Hadn’t realised it was exactly one year between parkruns - only 4 minutes to make up…
#parkrun #plantarfasciitis #v60 -
Thought I'd make a little test to see if my #plantarfasciitis had healed yet - I was pain free for a few weeks. Took an easy 2-mile walk during my lunch break.
It had not healed up yet, and I am now far from pain free.
-
Ok, even with good shoes, I may have overdone it today. #PlantarFasciitis
