In addition to #PlanetNine, the solar system may also contain a closer, smaller world that could be spotted soon.
The newly proposed planet, assuming it exists, is predicted to be somewhere between Mercury and Earth in scale, which would likely make it detectable within the next few years. It is distinct from #Planet9 or #PlanetX, much larger and more distant than #Planet Y.

If the object really is #PlanetNine, it would be larger than Neptune and exist 700 times further from the sun than Earth.
Planet Nine was put forward in 2016 by Michael Brown and Konstantin Batygin of the California Institute of Technology to explain an unusual bunching of orbits of some objects in the #KuiperBelt, such as #Sedna.
