i gave noodle a try in #uxn and it's a very charming program. i am not amazing at drawing but i drew my profile picture in it with a mouse. i did some drawing with paint from #plan9port (from #9front ) before and it is definitely an upgrade. i have used #gimp but it's a bit much to be honest.

Been playing with the Acme editor from #plan9port. Very much out of my comfort zone (vi-like editors) but so far I quite like it. My goal is to install #9front on my old Thinkpad T430 and use it for writing in my bedroom once I've properly gotten to grips with the editor. Seems like a solid choice of OS for reducing distractions and I find a lot of the ideas behind #plan9 really appealing.
General use daily driver is – and will remain – #openbsd, of course.

was looking through the 9term source code to try and hard code the font and i found this gem.
I did not change the font if anyone is wondering, ill just stick to launching it with a different font.

so i have been learning #sam and #acme properly and oh my god. acme is the best editor i have ever used. i love the fact that it really is an os interface in its own right. i have been completely underutilising it. i now have a setup on my second desktop at all times.
sam just seems like ed on steroids with a lot of the acme benefits of the mouse interface.
i am using acme for actual work or writing and i use sam for quick edits or config files.

Because I had forgotten since the last time I had to figure this out: to get plan9port compiling on linux mint (and likely others), ‘apt install libx11-dev libxt-dev libxext-dev libfreetype-dev libfontconfig-dev’ to resolve missing dependencies.

I am back on my bullshit! I’ve been using #Acme again and it’s refreshing how quickly I can set up a working space of directories, shells, documentation and several documents. #Plan9Port

#Plan9port finally packaged for #Guix for real.
The version I had on Git last night was the wrong one, but now I've fixed it. I'll still have to port over my scripts, but now I can finally use #Acme on Guix SD.
