Patrick McGahern Books when it was in the Glebe. I had thought it had closed, but it’s just over in the market. Floor to ceiling shelves of the most beautiful, antique books. The Raceway. I don’t think I ever made it inside, but it’s outside definitely made an impression on teenaged me. It burned down in 1994 according to google. The lovely Yukon Theatre. I lived in Whitehorse for a few years, many moons ago. Always loved this little place with its iconic red sign. Happy to see it’s still going. Next up in the #PlacesIRemember Chez Taffy in Vanier. A tiny diner where you sat at the counter and the cook made breakfast on the flattop. Restaurant Barbe. My sketch turned out a bit wonky, but restaurant Barbe is a bit wonky. I remember their hours were 2 am to 2 pm, no matter how many eggs you ordered, you got three. The best breakfast in town.
