Wow, I just bought an iPad just to use Procreate. I once bought a Wacom intous tablet to use it with my Mac on Pixelmator. But boy is that a difference! No lag and brushes are miles ahead of anything that Pixelmator offers. This is just a doodle and is literally the 3rd thing I drew today. Procreate with Apple Pencil is really a game changer!

Has anyone dug deep into the new Pixelmator that's part of Apple's new Creator Studio? Why does a vector appeared dithered. I opened an Adobe Illustrator file and can edit it as a vector in Pixelmator, but zoomed in it is dithered. It is just how it is displayed—it isn't really dithered upon export to PDF or SVG, but it bugs the hell out of me. weird, the mac app store happily updated my previously purchased final cut and logic to the latest version but not pixelmator pro. has the non-studio version of that been abandoned? and i have to download separate versions of iWork?

As much as I am skeptical of Canva ownership longterm, the new Affinity Studio is quite solid even with a free account. I have hope they won't enshittify or force you to train AI.
As an Affinity v2 user it hasn't taken long for me to feel at home in Studio. Rolling an entire design suite into 1 app is impressive and makes a lot of sense.
I also use Sketch, Figma, Penpot, Procreate, and Pixelmator Pro (hope Apple doesn't ruin) depending on the task for my anti-Adobe workflow.

While I think paying a subscription for this is kinda terrible, I do like the idea of using it for a month and then buying individual licences.
I really want to try Pixelmator Pro, but gotta wait until the end of January until it's available as part of that trial. Don't want to waste £50 on it until I've tried it.

プロダクトが映像・音楽に強いラインナップだからそういう層には結構刺さりそうだし、#Pixelmator Pro も画像編集ツールとしてはかなり優秀なツールだからこれでさらに Adobe に縛られる必要がなくなる人がまた増えるんじゃないかな :apartyblobcat:Canva と同様オフィスツールの分野にもしれっと領域を広げてる（というか Apple はもともとそこのプロダクトは持ってはいたけど）ところをみるに、"デザイン" とか "クリエイティブ" という分野に特化してきたサービスも今後はライトユーザーとかオフィスツールとか、よりパイの大きいところへ"デザイン" という強みを活かしてどう広がっていくかということがビジネス上は大事になってきているように感じる。
そういう意味で Adobe は、ライトユーザーの取り込みという意味では Canva に先を越されていまや太刀打ちできず、UI デザイン分野で水をあけられていた Figma の買収に失敗し、今は生成 AI が頼みの綱のようでニュースリリースもそんなのばっかりだけど、長年の競合買収で図体ばっかりデカくなって殿様商売体質が抜けてないところを見ると、傍から見ればまだまだ元気に見える Adobe も今後は段々と立つ瀬がなくなっていくんじゃないかと思っている。

Kleines Update zum "PC-DOS 2000" Handbuch:
Nach etwas mehr als 400 fertig eingescannten und digital aufbereiteten Seiten hatte ich vorhin mal testweise eine 150dpi PDF-Datei ins Internet Archive geladen. Wollte mir nur mal vorab anschauen, wie das Ganze im dortigen Buch-Lesemodus angezeigt wird. Das Ergebnis gefällt mir eigentlich echt super und das freut mich wirklich! Alle Seiten sind gerade und super lesbar und auch von der Optik her so, wie ich es haben will.
Ich arbeite ja schon mehr oder weniger ein halbes Jahr an den Scans. Seit September 2024. Uff... jetzt sind "nur" noch 276 Seiten übrig! Irgendwann wird es fertig werden.
