  3. Mobile data works now with some hacks. I also found the reason for a weird modem crash. The modem requests extra carrier data over a separate oem channel in protobuf format. It retries this a couple of times and while it does, data stalls. And if those requests are ignored for too long, an internal queue fills up until the modem crashes hard #mobilelinux #pixel9a

  5. Update: I got the Exynos 5300 modem booting and was able to send a simple text message! Sadly, all very proprietary with no existing integration into e.g. ModemManager #mobilelinux #pixel9a

  7. In-band deep sleep works now too. That drops the idle power usage when connected to wifi (measured WLAN+BT rail only) from nearly 400mW to 130mW. Still too high compared to downstream, but a big improvement. And while both GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus 4.8 were unable to pinpoint previous issues I've had, Fable 5 did nail it in one prompt. Not sure what to think of that... #mobilelinux #pixel9a

  9. As an update: the ACPM based thermal probes and power readings are wired up now. This also means that running a CPU intensive task is safe now (I hope). Before, the phone could have run the chip too hot, as dynamic CPU frequencies were already working. I’ve verified that the big core now stays below 90°C under sustained load. In a previous test, it briefly reached 125°C according to the thermal probes (I quickly killed the load). That’s one way you can kill your device #mobilelinux #pixel9a

  10. The code for my Pixel 9a experiments is now available at git.deusch.me/pixel-mainline. I’m including a big AI disclaimer in the repository descriptions. Anyone using that code has to be aware that I created it with LLMs as an (ongoing) experiment. While I always have the LLM validate commits against downstream code and traces, and also verify that things work on the device, there might be problems. I won’t take blame if you build on top of this code and your device gets damaged

  11. WiFi required getting PCIe working first. Also, there’s now a very basic fuel gauge for the battery percentage. Most of my time over the weekend was spent on debugging sleep to idle though. I went down that rabbit hole after I found that postmarketOS automatically triggers suspend after a bit, which caused the phone to need a hard reset. Sleep to idle works quite reliably now. Deep sleep is still broken and triggers the ACPM watchdog… #postmarketOS #mobilelinux #pixel9a

  13. Z lekkim opóźnieniem, ale #grapheneos zainstalowany na #pixel9a 👍

Instalacja błyskawiczna, a teraz zabawa z konfiguracją aplikacji.

Sam szukałem tych informacji, więc dla następnych szukających:
