  1. Well, I couldn't splash out in the black Friday sales, but I did bag a #PiPicoW and a breakout board from #ThePiHut!

However, I would like to highlight that even without the bf discount, The PiHut was still cheaper than the same things being sold on Amazon and eBay!

Anyway, order placed... Later, while reading my techy magazine (Linux Format, issue 322), what do I find but a small python project for a Pi Pico W (and an LCD display). Clearly my buy was approved by the Universe ☺️

  5. Briefly back onto the Farnsworths. Finished both cases, but one of the displays died, and the replacement sent was wrong. So waiting (again) to get the second one running.

Moved the Strowger script and the test card script onto an Internet facing server. Currently, I can only try the test card and remote loop back.

  7. Finally managed to get my @microblocks program running on to feed into my PC running QSynth under Linux

The really hard part was trying to do the screen capture (finally got there using SimpleScreenRecorder configured with backend as pulseaudio.

Who'd thought that the hard part of Linux Desktop would be audio!

  9. @xan at €5/piece single and less than €2,50 on reel as board [or €2/piece as IC and less than €1 for the same on reel] they are really a no-brainer.

@fuchsiii got herself a @Raspberry_Pi #PiPicoW to experiment with because this thing really wipes the floor with #Atmel #ATtiny and the like whilst being cheaper and not requiring expensive #DevKit|s to get started.

  10. Currently I'm a bit flummoxed.

I'm working with a Pi Pico W. I have it set up as a captive portal but the webpage is held on the Pico W as a file. I have seen a constantly updated webpage of changing temperatures using the Pico W as the webserver.

What I'm researching right now is how to use the OV7670 camera to take a photo then to put it on the webpage. Rather than using the webpage as a file, I want to do the webpage as an updated thing built into the main code. I just don't like too many external bits and bobs with code. I like monolithic code.

The aim is to have the camera taking images then presenting the images via the webpage on a captive wifi portal.

  11. I had almost given up on getting the Pi Pico W to work as a captive portal. Today I found one of the Phew files was missing and another did not have the access point routine. Now I'm content. I can use this to control motors etc

  12. @dis @adafruit that's because @rpilocator only tracks the @Raspberry_Pi #SBC's, not #Microcontrollers...

Not to mention that the #RP2040 (as well as #PiPico and variants like #PiPicoW) are generally well available and not even remotely as #Scalped as even the #Pi0 v1.3 is today)...

  13. @rpilocator @adafruit pico is back in stock! Not listed on rpilocator though

  14. @ethanOS @Raspberry_Pi I'm sure a ##PiPicoW will do that equally and is actually available at MSRP...

  15. Dear #lazyweb, can anyone point to a known good #micropython firmware build for the #PiPicoW? I'm fairly sure the snapshots on the site are broken because they don't come up with a reliable ttyACM0 after flashing but the stock #picopi firmware does.
